New Secretary of State: Matt Hancock

New Secretary of State: Matt Hancock

16th July 2018

Replacing the Jeremy Hunt, the longest serving Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, is Matt Hancock.

Previously the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, Hancock starts his time in healthcare at a critical point for health and social care - the development of the NHS 10-year plan and 5-year funding arrangement.

He also set out his optimistic ambition for the NHS and his view on the use of technology: ''Nowhere does technology have greater potential to improve lives than in healthcare''

Read his full piece here and for more information on Mr Hancock, have a look at here at his Conservative Home profile.

We look forward to see how this change of leadership shall make a difference regarding the five year funding deal and 10-year plan, we wish him the best of luck!
