NHS Funding: How much is enough and what has to change?

We are holding a roundtable event on NHS funding ahead of the expected announcement on a new financial deal for the NHS as the Service turns 70 next month. The roundtable meeting will consider:

-      How much should we expect from the funding announcement and how much is needed?

-      How can we expect the additional funding to be paid for?

-      What should be the priorities for reform?

Richard Murray, Director of Policy at The King’s Fund will provide some scene setting on the additional funding required and the debate on hypothecation. Chris Hopson, Chief Executive at NHS Providers will speak on how funding should be linked to future reform. Richard Graham MP is a supporter of introducing a hypothecated tax for Health and Care funding and will discuss the parliamentary response to last week’s announcement and next steps. We will then open up to Question and Answer session with attendees.
