Sir Kenneth Calman

Sir Kenneth Calman is the Chair of the National Cancer Research Institute.

He was formerly Chief Medical Officer at the Department of Health in London and Chief Medical Officer for Scotland.

He is Vice-Chancellor and Warden at the University of Durham and was elected Chancellor of the University of Glasgow in 2006. He was awarded a KCB in 1996.

Sir Kenneth Calman is Chair of the Working Group on behalf of the Nuffield Council on Bioethics on Clinical Research in Developing Countries and a member of the Board of Macmillian Cancer Relief and the Imperial Cancer Research Fund.

In addition he is the author of 7 books and over 100 scientific papers.
