David Flory is the Department of Health’s Deputy NHS Chief Executive
Before joining the Department in June 2007, David was Chief Executive of North East Strategic Health Authority.
Prior to this he was the Chief Executive of both County Durham and Tees Valley and Northumberland, Tyne and Wear Strategic Health Authorities.
He has been involved with the health service in the North East for 15 years, and was previously Chief Executive of the former Newcastle and North Tyneside Health Authority from 1999.
Before then he worked at regional level for eight years, holding senior positions in finance and performance for the regional health authority that was superseded by the Northern and Yorkshire Regional Office of the NHS Executive.
