Andrew Miller MP

Science and Technology Select Committee Chair

Andrew Miller was first elected as the MP for Ellesmere Port and Neston in 1992 and was elected Chair of the Science and Technology Select Committee in 2010.

Prior to his election he was a Technician at Portsmouth Polytechnic, an analyst in geology, from 1967 to 1976 and a Regional official, for MSF (formerly ASTMS) from 1977 to 1992.

He was a member of the Science and Technology Select Committee from 1992 to 1997, the Information Select Committee from 1992 to 2001, and the Joint Committee on Human Rights in 2001. He was Chair of the Regulatory Reform Select Committee from 2005 to 2010, and has been a member of the Liaison Select Committee since 2005.

In addition Andrew Miller has been the President of Computing for Labour since 1993 and is a member of Scientists for Labour.
