NHS IT PROGRAMME

As the Programme moves toward its implementation phase, the DoH has announced the appointment of Deputy CMO Prof Aidan Halligan as joint Director General of NPfIT, alongside Richard Granger.

The appointment, an aspect of the programme planned from the outset, is intended to strengthen the clinical leadership of the NpfIT as the newly procured IT systems are rolled out across the 5 National Regions.

The constituency data element of website has been redesigned with a new ‘comparator’ feature added, and as well as hosting full details of past and future meetings and an archive of past ebulletins, the site now boasts ‘subject area’ pages, focussing on some of the key areas of health policy.
