Healthcare Commission to publish Annual Health Check

The Healthcare Commission has announced that it an Annual Health Check will replace the star ratings from this year and is designed to offer a richer picture of performance. For further details, please see below.

 

Westminster Hall Debate on Reconfigurations in the NHS

Dr Richard Taylor MP lead a debate this week on NHS reconfiguration, arguing that given NHS deficits, the European working time directive and ever-increasing demands for better and more expensive treatments, the NHS should make economies and that the politics should be taken out of such decisions. APHG Seminar: The Role of the Independent Sector in the NHS.

 

The independent sector is set to play a significant role in the provision of healthcare in the UK as part of Government plans to reform the National Health Service. Secretary of State for Health, Rt Hon Patricia Hewitt will address the meeting, as well as Dr Jennifer Dixon from the King’s Fund, Rt Hon Kevin Barron MP, and Carol Bannister, South Hampshire & West Devon PCT.
