Parliament
The new White Paper detailing the Government’s
plans for primary care reform was introduced to the House of Commons on
Monday 30th January.

Lords Committee report raises
concerns over the lack of drug testing on children
A report by the European Union Committee - Social and
Consumer Affairs (Sub-Committee G) states that 90% of medicines used on new
born babies have not been properly tested.

NHS patients
receive fastest ever access to treatment
New waiting list figures released on Friday 3rd
February show that by the end of last year the NHS had achieved the target of
delivering a maximum wait of six months for treatment. This compares to
284,000 patients waiting longer than six months in March 1997.

Care Director.
Opposition Day. There will be a debate on the future of mental health
services followed by a debate on the re-organisation of primary care trusts,
strategic health authorities and ambulance trusts. Both debates arise on an
Opposition Motion.
